Myofunctional Therapy and My Journey
All About Tiffany - RDH, Myofunctional Therapist
I have been a practicing hygienist for over ten years after graduating from Shoreline Community College with an associate's degree in Dental Hygiene. I first heard about myofunctional therapy when I graduated; however, as I was fresh out of school, I wasn't ready to take that next step in my education. Over time, I saw oral myofunctional disorders in myself, my family, and my patients and desired to search for more answers. I had to advocate and research on my own to find out how to get help with my children and their ability to thrive as they should. After seeing changes in them, I knew if I didn't continue my education to learn how to solve these problems for others through Myofunctional Therapy, I wouldn't be bringing the best care I could to my patients.
After I completed the requirements to become a Myofunctional Therapist, I began to speak to my patients about how I could help change their lives for the better beyond routine Dental Hygiene. It was one of the best decisions I made for myself and the treatment of my family and patients.
I love educating patients and being able to explain how these dysfunctions happen and the years of research that back up the diagnosis. I am passionate about education, teaching, and helping my community achieve a better quality of life. I appreciate you being here and learning on this journey with me.
