How Does It Work
Myofunctional Therapy?
At Myo-Spir, our therapy is all about changing habits and strengthening muscles to improve how we breathe, speak, chew and swallow. It’s possible to have life-changing results from a myofunctional therapy program, such as decreasing mouth breathing and increasing healthy sleep functions. Still, it’s worth bearing in mind that every patient is different.
Depending on the areas we are trying to improve, I will tailor a treatment plan for you and address your specific needs. There will include various exercises and monthly check-ins with you to support your progress and make adjustments to the program as needed.
During your first visit, which typically lasts about 90 minutes, you will have a complete evaluation that includes photos, assessment, videos, and information about treatment from symptoms discussed together. After this, most of our subsequent treatment sessions will be conducted via Virtual Meetings to make it more convenient for your schedule.
Typically, therapy session to last about 20-40 minutes every 2 weeks for about 6-9 months. You will be given a therapy plan consisting of exercises that will need to be practiced daily to achieve the best results.
Other providers might be recommended such as dentists, doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, nurses and psychologists. Myofunctional therapy is a team approach and best done with support from other leaders in the industry.
Do I bill insurance?
We know that healthcare costs can add up, but Myo-Spir, LLC cannot directly bill insurance. We are considered an out-of-network provider.
Working with an out-of-network provider makes the treatment plan costs more transparent for the provider and the patient and allows us to work for you rather than insurance companies. Costs are laid out upfront, and no hidden fees, co-pays, or premiums exist. We prefer to work directly for the patients who hire us rather than for insurance companies that dictate the time spent with patients and determine what is worth spending time on.
We aim to fully educate and empower you during our time together, which isn’t always possible following insurance guidelines. We also offer direct access, which prevents excess appointments, getting referrals, and waiting for openings.
Time and effort are valuable, so we want to make the most of our time together rather than following codes for care.
We offer a superbill halfway through treatment and at the end of treatment to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. There is no guarantee that any/all invoices will be reimbursed. We understand that cost can be a barrier, and we have various treatment plans and options to fit most budgets.
We can accept FSA and HSA health accounts as payment and provide the appropriate receipts.
